Vehicle Stickers GENERAL INFORMATION: All vehicles owned by Oak Park residents must display a current vehicle sticker. Vehicles leased or owned by businesses but stored in Oak Park overnight and on weekends must display a valid sticker as well. Vehicle stickers must be renewed annually. Renewal applications are mailed in May to residents who previously registered vehicles in Oak Park. Residents who receive a renewal application may renew online, by mail or in person at Village Hall through 5 p.m., June 30. The renewal process cannot begin until renewal notices have been received in the mail. FEES: The vehicle sticker fee is $50 for passenger cars - $45 for renewals made online. Cars owned by persons 65 years old and older, and persons with disability license plates pay a reduced fee. Trucks, recreational vehicles, motorcycles, mopeds and buses also must be licensed, the fee varying by type of vehicle. DEADLINES: Vehicle stickers must be displayed by midnight on June 30. Anyone who misses the deadline must pay full price, plus a $20 late penalty. Failure to display a valid Village sticker on a resident-owned vehicle also may result in a $50 ticket, in addition to the sticker fee and late-payment penalty. Stickers can be renewed online beginning in May. NEW VEHICLES: Newly purchased vehicles must be registered with the Village of Oak Park. Residents should come to Village Hall with the vehicle sales receipt showing the date of purchase. For more information, call 708.358.5670 or e-mail clerk@oak-park.us. |
