Water mains are cleaned each Spring. In addition, valves are exercised and sewers, inlets and catch basins are cleaned as part of the annual infrastructure preventative maintenance program. Residents shouldn't experience any interruption to their service during these times. However, if emergency repairs are necessary, residents will be notified in advance of any temporary water shut-offs.

During Summer months, hydrants are flushed to ensure their dependability in fire suppression. Residents who notice a yellow discoloration in the water should let water run clear for a few minutes. If a yellow discoloration is noticed in the laundry, do not dry the clothes, but call the Water Division to obtain a solution that will remove the stain.
