Sewer and water mains are cleaned each Spring. In addition, valves are exercised and inlets and catch basins are cleaned as part of the annual infrastructure preventative maintenance program. Residents shouldn't experience any interruption to their service during these times. However, if emergency repairs are necessary, residents will be notified in advance of any temporary water shut-offs. The Village also routinely cleans the sewers on a two-year cycle, beginning each Spring, a service that typically does not interrupt service. After the lines are cleared, the Village checks for blockages, cave-ins or obstructions via a remote television camera inserted into the sewer lines. Lines in need of repair are identified, ensuring that the system is maintained and operating at peak performance.
