Parkway Tree and Stump Removal Parkway trees have to be removed at times due to accident or storm damage, disease or natural death. Tree removals occur mostly in the spring and fall. The spread of Dutch Elm Disease (DED) is the most common reason for tree removal in the Village. Aggressive identification and removal of DED infected trees is the most effective way to slow the spread of this highly contagious disease. Stump removal typically occurs during the winter months. The process includes grinding the stump, removing debris and clean up, and backfilling to grade with clean soil. Seed is sown in early spring.
