Brush and Tree Pick-Up

Green yardwaste stickers are required for collection of bundles of brush and other yardwaste. Stickers can be purchased for $2.35 at grocery and hardware store locations throughout the Village, including Village Hall Cashier's Office. A yardwaste sticker must be placed on each bundle of brush no larger than two feet in diameter, four feet in length, and not exceeding 50 pounds. Bundles of brush should be placed in the regular collection area no later than 7 a.m. on the same collection day as the trash. Bundled brush will be picked up with other yardwaste from first full week of April through December 1.Unbundled brush also will be collected year round for a fee. Branches and limbs up to three feet in diameter and four feet in length can be placed in the regular collection area without an attached sticker if arrangements are made with the Village's waste contractor. Brush must be in neat, manageable piles. To make an appointment for estimating the removal cost of brush, call Waste Management toll free at 800.796.9696.

Each year, the Village also provides collection for Christmas and holiday trees during the second and third weeks of January. Waste Management will collect the trees at regular collection points on regularly scheduled pick up days if the trees are free of plastic bags, decorations and tree stands. Place at your regular collection point. Since all trees collected are mulched at a licensed composting facility and used for soil enrichment, wreaths and garlands cannot be collected for recycling because they contain wire. Place them in the trash container.
