Environmental Health Division
Restaurant Inspections All retail food, food service and temporary food establishments in the Village are inspected regularly to ensure compliance with Village code and state licensing requirements. Johnson Awards are given annually to the restaurants and food services that score the highest on the inspections. The Environmental Health Services Division also investigates complaints, reviews construction plans for new and remodeled food businesses and conducts foodborne illness investigations. In addition, food safety education is provided to food service workers when areas in need of improvement are identified through routine restaurant inspections.
