Seasonal Influenza Update Vaccinations offered by appointment The Oak Park Department of Public Health offers seasonal flu vaccinations for a fee by appointment at community clinics, usually beginning in September. Seasonal influenza innoculation is recommended for all persons over the age of six months — including school-aged children — who want to reduce the risk of becoming ill with the flu or spreading the flu to others. Flu shots are $25 for adults and $10 for children under 18 years of age. Medicare B recipients must present a Medicare card to demonstrate eligibility for a free flu shot. Medicare HMO recipients should check with their insurer before scheduling an appointment.
