HIV Counseling and Testing

The Oak Park Health Department offers confidential HIV counseling and testing for individuals who are at greatest risk of infection. This testing program is made available through a grant from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Appointments are necessary. Testing is free by appointment. What you can expect when scheduling an appointment

When calling for an anonymous HIV test, you will be asked about your reason for wishing to be tested. Since the HIV counseling and testing program is focused primarily on those individuals who are more likely to be exposed to HIV through sexual contact or needle use, you may be asked questions that might make you uncomfortable. Please be accurate and forthcoming hen asked so that we can provide the most effective services.

When you arrive at the clinic, you will meet with a counselor who will take a specimen and answer any questions you may have.
