Tuesday, June 15, 2021  ::   Residents are invited to join in Oak Park’s celebration of Juneteenth this Saturday, June 19. The event, which was organized by community members and co-sponsored by the Village, will include a car caravan and a community picnic.
Friday, June 11, 2021  ::   The Village is joining the county and state in removing COVID-19 capacity limits and most restrictions that have been in place for more than a year to help limit the spread of the highly contagious virus.
Saturday, June 5, 2021  ::   The Village hosted an outdoor ceremony celebrating Juneteenth at 10 a.m., Sat., June 5, by Village Hall, 123 Madison St. With public health officials still cautious about large gatherings as the threat of COVID-19 continues, social distancing guidelines were observed.
Thursday, June 3, 2021  ::   Citing a continued need for caution as the pandemic ebbs, local public health officials canceled this year’s July 4th parade, but did not rule out opportunities for community events in the fall.
Tuesday, May 18, 2021  ::   The Oak Park Police Department is stepping up seat belt enforcement to remind motorists to Click It or Ticket now through Memorial Day weekend.
Friday, May 14, 2021  ::   With local COVID-19 vaccination rates climbing and the number of cases trend down, Oak Park moved into the Bridge Phase of the Restore Illinois reopening plan, which includes expanded capacity for businesses, dining, offices, events, conferences and gatherings.
Wednesday, May 12, 2021  ::   The Oak Park Public Health Department will partner with Walgreens to host a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine community clinic from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sat., May 22 in the field house at Oak Park River Forest High School. The clinic is open to anyone age 12 or older.
Tuesday, May 11, 2021  ::   The Oak Park Farmers’ Market returns for its 46th season on Sat., May 22, back in its regular location in the Pilgrim Church parking lot at 460 Lake St., one block west of Ridgeland Avenue.
Thursday, April 29, 2021  ::   Oak Park’s online block party registration portal is set to reopen on Mon., May 3 with COVID-19 restrictions in place based on local public health guidelines, including wearing masks and proper social distancing.
Monday, April 26, 2021  ::   A public health professional with a PhD in epidemiology has been selected to be the new director of the Oak Park Department of Public Health. Theresa D. Chapple-McGruder, Ph.D., is scheduled to assume her new role in Oak Park on May 3.
