Wednesday, May 3, 2023  ::   The Village is celebrating International Compost Awareness Week from May 7-13 by highlighting the benefits of composting and encouraging participation in Oak Park’s CompostAble food scrap composting program.
Monday, May 1, 2023  ::   The Village of Oak Park will host a free firearm lock from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 13 in the courtyard at Village Hall, 123 Madison St. No registration is required.

Thursday, April 20, 2023  ::   On Saturday, April 8, just after 4 p.m., the Oak Park Police Department was called to the Oak Park-River Forest High School fieldhouse in response to an aggravated battery that occurred during a wrestling event, the “Beat the Streets Chicago Freestyle & Greco Tournament” hosted by USA Wrestling. Neither party involved is an Oak Park resident or an OPRF High School student.

The new contract, which runs through 2025, ensures participants never pay more than the ComEd energy rate.

Wednesday, April 5, 2023  ::   With the Consolidated Municipal Election now complete, Oak Park residents can recycle yard signs through a special drop-off coordinated by the Public Works Department's Environmental Services Division through April 21.
Thursday, March 23, 2023  ::   Artists are being sought to create murals that will continue the transformation of the railroad retaining walls along the Green Line corridor from dull, blank concrete into canvases as part of the Oak Park Area Arts Council's Mini-Mural program.
