In line with the nationwide focus on increasing activity to reduce obesity, the Department of Public Health, in collaboration with the West Cook YMCA, the Park District of Oak Park, Rush Oak Park Hospital and West Suburban Medical Center, is launching a Village-wide campaign in to promote walking — the cheapest and most convenient form of exercise. The Oak Park Walks Campaign is designed and dedicated to improving health among Oak Park residents by encouraging individuals to grab some water, sunscreen and a comfortable pair of shoes to take advantage of the cheapest and most convenient form of exercise around.
