Fire Department The Fire Department provides emergency services including fire suppression, basic and advanced life support, hazardous materials mitigation, and fire and special rescues. Non-emergency activities include training, public education on topics such as fire prevention and CPR, station tours, pre-fire planning, as well as annual fire inspections of every commercial and public building in the Village. Oak Park has three fire stations that house a variety of apparatus from ambulances to ladder trucks and command vehicles. Station 1, Fire Headquarters, is located at 100 N. Euclid Ave; Station 2 is at 212 Augusta St.; and Station 3 is at 900 S. East Ave. Always on call for emergency service, the Fire Department maintains three shifts of more than 20 trained professionals ready to provide around the clock protection to residents. Many of the Village's firefighters also are cross-trained as paramedics. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is an integral part of the fire department. The Village has two Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances stationed at Fire Headquarters and staffed with two paramedics 24 hours a day. Two ALS Engine Companies, also staffed with a paramedic 24 hours a day, supplement the ambulances.
