Mandatory seminar for rental property owners, managers set…The Annual Management Seminar for rental property owners and managers will be held on Thurs., Sept. 29 in the Council Chambers at Village Hall, 123 Madison St. Two identical sessions are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. All owners and managers of buildings with four or more units are required to attend one session. Owners/managers of smaller properties also are welcome. The seminar is designed to keep managers informed of Village programs and activities that may affect apartment building operations. A property management resource panel at each session will make presentations on regulations and programs, and a variety of useful materials will be available. Hours extended…The Office of the Village Clerk is open from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Mondays. Services available during late hours include vehicle sticker purchases, voter registration and information on other Village services. Free Women’s Wellness Program… A free 12-week wellness program designed to help women develop healthier lifestyles within busy schedules will be offered from 10 - 11:30 a.m. at Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake St. and from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Rush Oak Park Hospital, 520 S. Maple Ave., on Wednesdays starting Sept. 14. Designed by the not-for-profit Cooper Institute, the Heart Smart for Women program focuses on changes in lifestyle that will guide participants to a healthier way of living and reduce risk of heart disease. Participants must be at least 18 years old and reside in Oak Park. The registration deadline is Wed., Sept. 7. The program will be presented by Oak Park Department of Public Health staff and is funded by a grant from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Barrie Park grand opening activities planned
The Park District of Oak Park and a local neighborhood group will host a celebration of the grand opening of Barrie Park beginning at 2 p.m., Sat., Sept. 10. Activities will include family games, cookie bake-off, organization and business fair, and community picnic with free ice cream and bottled water. Ridgeland Common to close temporarily for repairs
Ridgeland Common will be closed September 19–25 for maintenance and repair, and to prepare for the upcoming skating season.
