The cost of both flu and pneumococcal shots are covered by Medicare B, but recipients must bring their Medicare card to the clinic to demonstrate eligibility. Medicare recipients who are part of an HMO should check with their insurer before visiting a Village clinic. The cost of the flu shot for non-Medicare recipients will be $15 for Village residents and $20 for non-residents. Hours extended...The Office of the Village Clerk is open from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Mondays. Services available during late hours include vehicle sticker purchases, voter registration and information on other Village services. Cable subscriber rights...For 30 days after a change in channel lineups or packages, federal law requires cable companies to allow subscribers to switch to an alternative level of service without the typical charge. This gives you the ability to explore options for other service levels that may better suit your video programming needs and budget without penalty. If you are unable to resolve any issue with the cable company, contact the Village Manager's Office at 358.5778 for assistance or to file a complaint. All complaints are tracked and reviewed by the Oak Park Telecommunications Commission, whose citizen members advise the Village Board regarding cable television matters.
Parking office extends hours...The Parking Office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Mon., Nov. 24 for permit renewals. For more information call 358.5700 or email publicworks@oak-park.us.
Off-leash program extended...The Park District of Oak Park has extended a temporary relaxation of its leash requirements in two Village Parks until at least March 18, when a review is scheduled. Owners are allowed to unleash their dogs from 6:30 - 8:30 a.m., on Saturdays and Sundays in Lindberg Park (Greenfield Avenue between Marion Street and Woodbine Avenue) and in Ridgeland Common Park (Lake Street between Ridgeland and Scoville avenues). Beginning Nov. 15, hours will be changed to 7 - 9 a.m., and will include legal holidays at Ridgeland Common. Except for these specific times and places, the leash law will be strictly enforced.
