Resident input is being sought into the Village's 2005-2009 Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development. The Village's consolidated plan provides an inventory of resources, identifies gaps in needed services and pinpoints and prioritizes community needs for affordable housing, infrastructure, public facilities, economic development, public services, historic preservation, planning and other development and housing needs. Public hearings are scheduled for 7 p.m., Thurs., May 6 at the Dole Learning Center, 255 Augusta Blvd., and 7 p.m., Thurs., May 13, in the Temporary Barrie Center in Rehm Park, 515 Garfield St. Citizens also can complete a survey on the Village's website, www.oak-park.us through May 10.  The needs identified and the priorities set through this process will shape future allocations of U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) entitlement funds. Citizen input is important because it will help ensure that information about the Village's resources and needs are accurately conveyed to HUD. For more information call 358.5425 or email comsvcs@oak-park.us.
