Margaret Provost-Fyfe
Public Health Director
Margaret Provost-Fyfe was appointed Health Director in May, 2007. She joined the Oak Park Department of Public Health 1985 as Community Health Services Supervisor. Provost-Fyfe began her career in public health as a staff nurse and assistant supervisor with the Lake County Health Department after serving as a Navy nurse at the Naval Hospital in Oakland, California. Prior to working for the Village, she directed community health programs
for the Wisconsin Winnebago and Oneida Tribe of Indians as part of the National Health Service Corps. Ms. Provost-Fyfe received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Loyola University School of Nursing and Master of Public Health degree from the University of North Carolina School of Public Health, where she was elected to the Delta Omega Honorary Public Health Society. She has served as co-chair of the Cook County Regional Implementation Group for HIV Prevention and as President of the Illinois Public Health Nurse Administrators. She has been an Oak Park resident since 1990.
