Public Works Director

John Wielebnicki, a civil engineer with extensive practical experience managing municipal services and capital improvement projects, is the Public Works Director for the Village of Oak Park. Prior to joining the Village in 2002, Wielebnicki spent 18 years with the City of Elmhurst, where he started as City Engineer, moved up to Assistant Public Works Director and then took on the director's role, a post he held for nine years. Wielebnicki has a degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. He also is a state licensed engineer and a member of several professional organizations, including the American Public Works Association.
