Development Review Development Services organizes an interdepartmental
team of Village staff to review planned or proposed development projects.
Development review is a presubmittal design and code review process intended
to help developers to better understand the requirements a project would
have to meet if formally submitted as a Planned Development (PD), variance
or special use request, a redevelopment agreement, or as a construction
project. The process is intended to streamline a project's consideration
by informing the developer of potential issues relating to the requirements
of the Village's formal review process. The review team examines the project
in its pre-submission status and reviews with the developer the applicable
code requirements. The formal review process that may be required by the
project as presented is also reviewed, such as the Plan Commission, Community
Design Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, or Village Board approvals.
The development review provides the information necessary to prepare a
complete application with all the appropriate Village staff at one time.
The Development Review team also reviews formal submissions when completed
and makes recommendations to the assigned hearing bodies on Village staff's
positions regarding projects under review. The Development Review Team
consists of Village department heads who have regulatory or advisory authority
involving proposed development projects. |
