Many of the Village's financial assistance programs for businesses are offered in partnership with the Oak Park Development Corporation (OPDC), a not-for-profit organization created in 1974 by area businesses and the Village to stimulate economic development in Oak Park Through this unique public-private partnership, OPDC and the Village have worked to increase the community's tax base by encouraging new and expanded retail stores, restaurants, corporate headquarters, major developments and tourism OPDC serves new developers, owners who want to rent or sell commercial property, businesses that want to find space to lease or buy and property owners or businesses seeking financing. All of OPDC's services are at no cost to the client or broker with the exception of a fee on approved loans.
