The Telecommunications Commission advises the Village Board on cable television and broadcasting issues concerning Oak Park residents. In that capacity, the Commission assists in monitoring telecommunication provider performance and compliance under local and state law or franchise agreement. Additionally, the Commission promotes the development of programming for local access channels, including VOP-TV, the educational access channel, the public access channel and any other similar service available in Oak Park from telecommunications operators. The Commission also is available to serve as a liaison between Oak Park residents and telecommunications providers authorized to do business in Oak Park. Terms for Commission members are for three years. The Commission meets at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month unless otherwise posted - please review agendas below to confirm times, dates and locations.
