Registered Contractor Lookup The registered contractor lookup feature is provided to help verify the status of a contractor to avoid unnecessary delays at the building permit counter. A contractor’s license and insurance must be current for a permit to be issued. To check the status of a contractor you are considering hiring, enter the first letter or letters of the contractor’s name in the starts with field or enter a portion of a contractor's name in contains field of the drop-down menu. Then click on the lookup button to see a listing of contractor names matching your entry. Addresses are provided to help verify the contractor selection in the event of similar names. Please note... this feature provides a listing of all contractors contained in the Building & Property Standards Department’s permit tracking database. The presence or absence of any contractor should not be construed as an endorsement or admonishment by the Village of Oak Park. The Village of Oak Park does not recommend contractors for any work or provide an opinion on the past performance of any contractor. Any contractor who provides the proper documentation may register with the Building & Property Standards Department to perform work within the Village.
