The Village of Oak Park government operates under the Village Manager form of government, in which an elected council, consisting of a president and six trustees, hires a professional manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of government services and programs. All Village of Oak Park elected officials serve four-year terms, on a staggered cycle, with a municipal election held the first Tuesday in April of years ending with an odd number.

Village President David Pope

David Pope was first elected Village President in April 2005 and is now in his second term. Formerly a principal with Price Waterhouse’s Strategy Consulting Practice, he is now a management consultant. His leadership exemplifies a thoughtful, fiscally responsible approach to Village governance, emphasizing intergovernmental coordination, and improved results-based accountability. He serves on the U.S. Conference of Mayors leadership group and as co-chair of its Sustainability Task Force. He has served as a Village Trustee, an Oak Park Plan Commissioner and a founding board member of RAINN, a national rape crisis hotline. David has an MBA from Northwestern and is married with two young children. |

Village Trustee Glenn Brewer

Glenn Brewer is a Community Affairs Specialist with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, focusing on fair lending regulations, community development and reinvestment opportunities, and fair housing law. He has prior experience in real estate and family law. His extensive community service includes his current roles as president of the Board of the Oak Park Regional Housing Center and treasurer for the Board of Trustees of Unity Temple Unitarian Universalist Congregation. Before moving to Oak Park, he served on the Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Commission in Bellwood. Glenn and his wife have three children, one in college and two in Oak Park public schools. |

John Hedges has a wealth of experience in local governance and civic volunteerism. A 28-year resident of Oak Park, John served many years as the executive director of the Park District of Oak Park. The Park District’s administrative office building on Madison Street bears his name. He also served a time as interim Village Manager. John is a former chairperson of the local chapter of Community Chest/United Way, and past president of the boards of the Oak Park Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Pleasant Home Foundation and the Oak Park River Forest Rotary Club. He also has served the local business community as vice president of the Madison Street Business Association. He currently is retired. |

Village Trustee Ray Johnson

Ray Johnson was elected as a Village Trustee in April 2003 and and re-elected in 2007 and 2011. An Austin Boulevard resident, Ray's Board assignments have included Citizen Police Oversight, Zoning Board of Appeals, Public Works, Public Safety, the Retail Rehabilitation Grant Committee, Historic Preservation, Plan Commission, Universal Access and Transportation Commissions. He worked with U.S. Senator Dick Durbin to advocate restoring proposed Community Development Block Grant funds cuts, and worked collaboratively with members of the District 97 Elementary School District and PTOs to support education funding reform. Ray has spend 28 years with HSBC, the world’s second largest bank, where he currently is a Program Manager/AVP for Community Investment and the North America Regional Coordinator for the HSBC Climate Partnership. |

Village Trustee Colette Lueck

Colette Lueck was first appointed to the Village Board in 2008 before standing for election in April 2009. She is Managing Director for the Illinois Children’s Mental Health Partnership, coordinating statewide efforts to improve mental health services for children and families. Her 20 year career in community health provides skills in project and organizational management, interagency coalition building, and community leadership. She was named Oak Park’s Volunteer of the Year in 2006 for her outstanding community service, including chair of the Oak Park Plan Commission, chair of the Oak Park and River Forest High School PTO Liaison Program, and member of the School District 97 Finance Work Group. Colette and her partner have one son, a 2008 graduate of OPRF. |

Village Trustee Adam Salzman

Civic involvement has been a cornerstone of Adam Salzman's career, both as a practicing attorney and an Oak Park resident. Prior to his election as Village Trustee, Adam served as chair of the Universal Access Commission (UAC) of Oak Park, which advocates on behalf of residents with disabilities. Prior to becoming UAC chair, he served as a UAC commissioner. Adam's legal career began as an attorney with the Cook County Public Guardian's office where he represented abused and neglected minors in the foster care system, and adults with disabilities in the probate division of the Cook County Circuit Court. He subsequently went into private practice focusing on disability rights, labor, employment and administrative law. Adam lives in Northeast Oak Park with his wife Jill and his two young daughters, Maggie and Roxy. |

Village Trustee Bob Tucker

Bob Tucker joined the Village Board in May 2011. Prior to his election to the Village board, Bob was the chair of the Oak Park Community Design Commission. He has served on Oak Park's volunteer commissions for more than 12 years. Bob is the Corporate General Counsel & Chief Risk Officer for Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago (NHS), a nonprofit organization dedicated to affordable housing and improving neighborhoods in Chicago. He is responsible for all legal operations for NHS and its affiliates and for evaluating, managing and minimizing corporate risk for the organization. He also has extensive experience in municipal finance, housing and development. Bob and his wife, Vicki, have lived in Oak Park since 1995. They have two children – Spencer, a student at Oak Park River Forest High School, and Bennett, a student at Longfellow Elementary School. |

Village Clerk Teresa Powell

Teresa Powell has strong management and leadership skills honed in community and professional work. As Clerk she oversees all official records of the Village, as well as Village Board advisory commissions and business licenses. She serves as liaison to the Citizen Involvement Commission and the Liquor Control Review Board. During 13 years in the health insurance industry, she introduced new technology to streamline processes, make services accessible and improve efficiency. Her work with non-profit groups has included Alcuin Montessori, Dominican University and the Arts and Business Council of Chicago. In Oak Park, she served on the Community Relations Commission and the Board of Health AIDS Committee. She is a member of the League of Women Voters, the Council of Care of St. Giles Family Mass Community and the 19th Century Club. A resident of Oak Park since 1976, she has four grown children. |
