Operations & Training
First Aid / CPR training Fire Department paramedics work with the Oak Park Department of Public Health to offer influenza shots to the public, typically beginning in September each year. Fire Headquarters, 100 N. Euclid Ave., is a regular site for community clinics. The Fire Department also offers free blood pressure checks for all residents who come in to any of the three fire stations. A designated Community Training Center for the American Heart Association, the Fire Department follows the Association's guidelines in offering CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) training. AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training is included in the CPR classes. Classes are offered regularly at Fire Department Headquarters, 100 N. Euclid Ave. Classes start at 6 p.m. and last for approximately four hours. Classes include Heartsaver/AED, HealthCare Provider and Infant/Child CPR. The fee is $25 for residents and employees of local businesses, and $50 for non-residents, in addition to a $12 textbook fee.
